16 mm ebony and olivewood lined with 2 mm czs.
Lot's of new designs coming up here. I have been spending a lot of time making tears and doing cz settings. Above is 2 pairs of 16 mm plugs with 4 and 2 mm cz settings. This pair below is 28 mm ebony tears with pink ivory heart inlay and black and lavender czs. I am very pleased with these results. I have these flush set, without using glue on the stones.
Here is the latest prototype. I am not sure if this has even been done yet or not, but this pair contains installed copper prongs. This is a 25.5 mm set with the 12 mm cz in the center held in place with prongs. The whole is drilled out in the back to let the light shine through. Copper wire and czs line the edge. There is no glue used at all in this set. This is a big step in the direction of more traditional style of jewelry with a modern twist. I am currently studying jewelry and metalwork, and it is all coming together together in my most recent work. I am not sure if I want to sell these or not yet, but if anyone is interested please let me know.
Some more tears here. 32 mm redheart with the heart cutout shape. The striping on this wood is amazing.
And last we have these. Afzelia burl massive tears. These are made to fit about 74 to 76 mm. Huge. 3 inches huge. The drastic coloring on here is so amazing. It is all over the place. I have a lot more scraps for tears of all sizes in this wood. For the bookmatched 2 tone pieces, I had to go huge. I did however make a one inch pair as well.
Coming soon, acid etched brass and copper jewelry. Probably some more tears and most definitely more stone setting. Keep and eye on the blog to stay current with my work. I do plan on updating this frequently. Until next time. Mark
