Amboyna burl two tiered rectangle wood pendant with zircon, diamond, turuqoise, and amethyst

This is the Cadillac of woods, the highly prized Amboyna burl.  I've had a stash of flat sized cut offs, perfect sized for pendants.  Each one is made of exceptionally high grade material.

Pendant that's shown here is made up of several different components.  It's made as a fabrication prototype, for making wood pendants.  Starting with two wood slabs I cut these and sanded them to match, drilled the two to make the rivets that will ultimately hold the chain as well.  The channel settings are inlayed and set into the top layer, all with 3 mm cabs in amethyst and turquiose.  The rivets have some bright blue zircons, accented by blue diamonds.  The back side shows a different section of burl, cut in an opposing angle.  There's a line of 11 stones, 1.5 mm white topaz.

Made this one for fun, and really there's a lot of potential to move with ideas like this.  There's always room to expand, meaning add more embellishment, more gems, more decoration, different shapes, different gems.  If this inspires any ideas, please talk about a custom piece.

Hand sanded, and finished with jojoba oil.  Occasional oilings will bring out the fiery nature of the material.  Drilled horizontally through the top angle to feed up to a 3 mm chain.

Each pendant is strung on an approximate 24 inch ball chain which can easily be clipped down if needed.
